FAQs
How do I get started with therapy?
To begin, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This brief call gives you an opportunity to share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any initial questions, and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. I’ll also explain more about my practice and how I work. You’re welcome to reach out by phone or email to schedule a time that works for you.
Do you accept insurance, and what are your fees?
My fee for a 45-minute psychotherapy session is $250. I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not work directly with insurance companies. However, many clients are able to receive reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. If you choose to use insurance, I will provide a monthly invoice (superbill) with all the information needed to submit a claim. Payment is due at the time of each session and is processed through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. I also reserve a limited number of sliding-scale spots for clients who may benefit from a reduced fee. Please feel free to ask about current availability.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are billed at the full session fee.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients located in New York. Telehealth can be a convenient and accessible option for many individuals and families, especially those with busy schedules, transportation challenges, or a preference for meeting from the comfort of home.
I use a HIPAA-compliant video platform to protect your privacy, and the process is simple and easy to use. Some clients choose to meet exclusively via telehealth, while others prefer a hybrid model depending on their needs. If you’re unsure whether telehealth is the right fit for you or your child, I’m happy to discuss what might work best during our consultation call.
